Annuity Management Guide
Step 1: Look up your registration
Enter the KIPO registration number of the right you want to manage, or upload an Excel file. Brandit automatically retrieves the following from KIPO:
- Title of the invention or design
- Applicant and right holder information
- Registration date and current year
- Next annuity deadline and estimated fee
Step 2: Monitor deadlines
Registered rights appear in the managed list at a glance. Brandit sends automatic reminders as the deadline approaches:
- 3 months before deadline: first email reminder
- 2 weeks before deadline: second email + dashboard banner
- 1 week before deadline: third reminder
- After the deadline: daily alerts until the grace period ends
Step 3: Request payment on your behalf
Click the Pay button on the managed list to process the current year's annuity. Select multiple items for bulk payment:
- Immediate payment request to KIPO upon checkout
- Guaranteed payment within the statutory deadline
- PDF receipt emailed after payment clears
- Full payment history available on the managed list
Step 4: Long-term maintenance
Brandit automatically tracks every annuity year until the right expires — no further setup required:
- Automatic yearly deadline renewal
- Maximum term auto-calculated per right type (Patent 20y, Design 20y, Utility Model 10y)
- Right holder information updates on transfer
- Expiration reminder sent 6 months before the final date
