After locking in an international filing date through a PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) application, you formally enter the patent office of each country where you actually want a patent. From the moment of entry, KIPO begins substantive examination of your case in Korea.

Yes. Korea is a PCT contracting state, so your PCT priority date is preserved when entering Korea. iphere is connected to the EPO public database — enter your application number and applicant, inventor and claim data are filled in automatically.

From the earliest priority date. If your PCT date and priority date are identical, the deadline runs from the PCT filing date; if you claimed priority, the priority date governs. iphere calculates this for you and surfaces the exact deadline on the dashboard.

Missing the deadline generally forfeits Korean rights for that case, but a 1-month restoration window may exist with a justifiable reason. If you are even close to the cutoff, contact an attorney immediately — restoration is far easier when raised promptly.
